Now, On to the results.....
As I mentioned, these 4 areas came out of the survey and will be what
I communicate with you about going forward:
- Launching and Running an eCommerce Store
- SEO (Free Traffic)
- Traffic (Paid and Social)
- Getting Started - moving beyond the "Getting Started" Phase
To keep it simple I did a copy and paste with the results and my thoughts
below or you can download the PDF version here:

by a conclusion and what I plan to teach and focus on.
WHAT YOU NEED HELP WITH IN 2016 SURVEY RESULTS
QUESTION #1:
If you look you will see that almost 90% said they are still working
and looking to grow their online business in 2016. However, notice
that 41% said they are just getting started. This “Getting Started”
phase is the most difficult phase and is extremely hard to move
to the growth phase. I’ll have more on this point later.
QUESTION #2:
As you look over these responses you’ll see that 40% are looking to sell
products that are shipping to their customer while only 6% are interested
in an Amazon drop ship type of business.
I find this interesting as an Amazon drop ship type of business is WAY easier
to start compared to a business where you have to ship products to a
customer and worry about returns and everything else. Yes, there is far more
profit when you go direct to a customer. We’ll talk more about these options
in a training webinar.
This is interesting….. 22% want to build and grow their affiliate business. There
is a lot of education needed here as affiliate marketing has changed a lot
through the years.
QUESTION #3:
Yes, a lack of traffic will prevent the success of any online business. Note
that over 41% said Traffic was the key issue. Also note that over 20% said
they didn’t know where to start and another 15% said a lack of technical
knowledge was holding them back. I would say these are close to the
same so that’s really over 35% stuck in the “Getting Started” phase.
This confirms the answer to question #1! 2nd point, over 18% said “Other”.
I read through the responses and over half (about 9%) are along the
technical issue or getting started line of thinking. If you add that to the
“Getting Started” phase you’re at 44% that need help moving to the next
Phase.
We’ll have to do some Webinar based Teaching/Coaching.
QUESTION #4:
Building on the #1 point from Question #3, the top answer was SEO (Free
Traffic). This relates back to the lack of traffic issue we need to resolve.
Facebook Ads and Video Marketing (Paid Traffic) came in at almost 20%.
This is important as Facebook is becoming an quick, easy and cheap way
to get traffic….if you know what you’re doing!
Notice that “How to Build A Website” is 18% (think…Getting Started Phase)
and most of the “Other” responses where in this same thought so we’ll
count 9% out of the 12% from other to the “Getting Started” phase which
would now be 27% for “Getting Started”.
QUESTION #5:
I wasn’t sure if I should include this question or not but a lot of people are
not teach and selling basic internet marketing services to local businesses
as their “Online Business”. What they have found is all the years spent
trying to figure “this web thing” out is very valuable to a local Roofing
Contractor who knows nothing.
This was split about as evenly as you could make it.
I sell marketing services to local businesses as well and what I might do is
provide some additional instruction in this area to see if there is any interest.
If so, I’ll do more, if not….we’ll remove it from the training/instruction schedule.
CONCLUSION:
So where does this leave us?
Well, this better prepares me for the type of content you would find
interesting in 2016. The last thing I want to do is take the time to craft an
email, review a product, plan and conduct a training webinar and no one
be interested.
Look for an email from me as we start to move in this direction!
