Why Rank is the Wrong SEO Metric to Pay Attention To

Of course there is value in ranking in the top spot in Google. We're not trying to tell you there isn't. However, it's important to understand that rank isn't the only way to measure the success of your SEO efforts. It's a good idea to keep an eye on rankings because too much fluctuation could be a sign of a bigger issue but focusing too much on rank can make you crazy and frustrated and it's not going to get you anywhere. Here are 3 reasons why rank is the wrong metric to pay attention to when measuring SEO success. Search is personalized. The search engines want to provide the best results to users which is why search results are becoming more personalized.

Word on the street is that Penguin 2.0 will be coming to a Google organic search result near you very shortly. If you aren't familiar with the Google Penguin algorithm update, it was first launched in the spring of 2012 and targeted websites that were using low quality (spammy) link building tactics. Should On Page Links be Limited?

Links are an important component of SEO because the search engine spiders crawl the web from link to link to determine what certain pages are about in order to rank them properly. While the link focus of an SEO campaign tends to be on generating valuable inbound links to a site from outside sources in order to establish trust it is important not to forget about the internal linking structure of a site. The internal linking structure of a site is important primarily for usability purposes.

Your Link Building Activities Need to Be Relevant!

I am a strictly white hat link building advocate and have been my whole SEO career. That means I believe that SEO campaigns need to play by the rules set forth by the search engines (as best as we can understand them anyway) and to avoid anything that might land your website in hot water. There are a lot of different things you have to take into account when deciding whether or not a link is white hat, and one of those qualifications is relevancy.

The New Face of the Online Spammer

When you think of an online spammer, what kinds of ugly images come to mind? Creepy people lurking around corners, being sneaky and crafting their next evil plan? In reality, spammers are increasingly just everyday people that go to their job and complete tasks to get their website to rank. They don't even realize that what they are doing is now considered "spam". As Google continues to tweak their algorithms, many "old school" SEO tactics are no longer accepted.

Is Your SEO Service Provider Willing to Do the Work?

Deciding to hire an SEO service provider is a major business decision, and it's important that you make sure you are working with the best one for your company. There are a lot of black hat spammers out there looking to take advantage of business owners that don't know better, but sometimes it's the "just okay" SEO providers you need to be extra careful to avoid. On paper they may look great, but are they really willing to do the work necessary to help your website succeed?

Are Important Keywords Limiting Your SEO Success?

One of the easiest traps to fall into when measuring your SEO success is to start siloing your results. It's especially easy to do this when you only care about how a short list of keywords, even if they are the most important keywords for your business, performs. I had an SEO client that fell into this habit and each month, no matter what the other numbers looked like, it all came down to this list of 20 or so keywords. If those keywords hadn't made much progress than our SEO efforts were falling short.

Technical SEO Items to Look Out For

When it comes to SEO it's important to remember that the search engines look at all aspects of your website when determining rank. A website may look beautiful and be easy to navigate, which is important from a user perspective, but what's going on on the outside of the site doesn't always accurately reflect what's going on on the back end of the site which is really what the search engine spiders are seeing. If you've incurred a penalty, you will obviously need to conduct a technical SEO audit to figure out what went wrong but it's recommended to conduct an audit on a regular basis to try and prevent a penalty from happening in the first place. Here are 4 important technical SEO items to be aware of.

http://esitesecrets.com/articles/4018/1/Mothers-Working-at-Home/Page1.html

The idea of working at home seems exciting to many people. If you are
a mother who wants to work but cannot due to being at home with young
children, you might be able to work at home.

Even if you are a mother of older children and are just sick of

home might be appropriate, as well.

Consider the reason for why you want to work at home and what skills
